The Green Card for Ag Safety is being upgraded and revamped so is currently unavailable. We hope to have the new version up and running by December.

The Green Card for Ag Safety is a self-paced online short course, designed to give a broad overview of farming and to take the repetition out of the induction process for farmers.

Modules include:

  • Recognise and report hazards in the workplace
  • Assess risks associated with identified hazards
  • Follow workplace procedures to control risks
  • Follow workplace procedures for dealing with accidents, fire and emergencies
  • Recognise risks for people and animals
  • Employee responsibilities about work health and safety legislation
  • Undertake safety training
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Undertake safety checks on equipment and machinery before operation
  • Hazardous substances and chemical handling
  • Noise
  • Assess risks associated with manual handling
  • Work health and safety information
  • Raise work health and safety issues with designated personnel
  • Contribute to a safe workplace

Please note that this course is generic and does not consider individual farm environments. We recommend employers to also complete a site induction with their workers.

Participants will receive a Green Card certificate upon completion, which is valid for 3 years.
